The last day of March!!!

Spring is here! It was in the 60's again today. :' ) My crocus are looking bea u te ful!!!

Baked for the church lenten luncheon for tomorrow and dropped them off and stayed and did my volunteer office work there. When I got home sat out on the patio and did some reading while "the girls" played in the yard. Dinner was chinese buffet (which was a real treat as we hardly ever go out to eat) and then tonight was the last night for the lenten study with a nice group of people. Actually the facilitator and his wife are our age and the three other ladies are a "little" older. :' ) Once has been with this church for 3o yrs, another 25 yrs and the third 18yrs! Alot of wisdom amongst the three! I am now watching Dancing with the Stars.

Busy Weekend

It sure has been a busy weekend! It finally reaches the 60's yesterday so I was very happy to play in our yard for a few hrs! The crocus are out! Yippee. We cleaned ourselves up and went to Judy and Bruce's for dinner with a bottle of wine and a dessert I made in hand! This recipe was given to me about 30 years ago from Judy, so we had a good chuckle about that! They made the best chicken cacatore I have EVER had! Marci stopped by for awhile and she says to say hi to Paul and Jen.

This morning Bob was off and running to get the Formeister boys so Sara could go to a wedding shower and Jen dropped Kendra and Jesse here around 9:20AM. We all went to church together and I have to say they were all great! This was a first time for the boys and they joined right in! Pretty cute. The weather wasn't quite as bad as predicted so the kids were able to get outside and burn off some of their energy. :' ) I whipped up some hotdogs and macaroni and cheese and they watched Madagasar Escape 2 Africa. I even enjoyed that. When that was done we pulled out the ice cream and all the toppings! All in all it was a great day!

This Mornings Dream

March 26, 2009

This morning I dreamed a very young Paul and I were watching a very large beautiful butterfly sunning itself in the mist of a sprinkler and red flowers were blooming all around. I remember edging around the flowers and Paul watching hoping I wouldn’t ask him to help. :’ ) As I walked away from Paul I gave him a hug and then I saw Paul as he is now leaning against a wall and I walked over to him and he gave me the biggest hug and told me he loved me and couldn’t imagine life without me!

This is one of my favorite shots. Bob really enjoyed Bryson while we visited in February

Back to Work

I had my appointment with the surgeon today and I off to work tomorrow! Yippeee! Bob came with me as I coaxed him to ask the surgeon about his hernia. We all got a good laugh as they put it "we got a 2 for one today!" Bob will probably go in during his April vacation........although I just realized we'll have Pepper and Jackson. Not sure if that will make a difference. This surgery will also be done laproscopically! He'll be up and around in no time at all.

Bob is at a Missions Meeting at the moment. Oddly enough, he's at church more than I am! :' )
Sunday Sara has a baby shower to go to at 11AM so Bob is going to get the boys and bring him back here for church. Sara said they'd been wondering what you do at church. We'll pick them up some coloring books and crayons for during the sermon as we don't think they'll want to join the other children for Sunday school. We really enjoy our church. Wish you all could find community.

Andy borrowed the truck to pick up bunk beds for the boys at Ikea. I'm waiting for him to show up at minute.

Nuture the Seasons of Your Soul

I've just a dailey meditation book and wanted to share this.

Each season, each time, leads into the next.....

There is purpose and value in each day of your life, in each season of your life. Nurture your times of action, of creating, of doing, and value your quieter times of going within. The more you study nature, the more you will learn about yourself. Nurture and trust the seasons of your soul.

At Home With JoEllen and Bob

Since I am home recuperating and have a little extra time and I enjoy Jackies Blog so much I thought I'd give it a try. I can't promise once a week like Jackie does, but thought this might be a good way to let friends know what's going on with us periodically. Besides as you all know, I am a camera nut and this is a good way to share some of my favorites.

Yesterday a few gals from church visited me for almost two hrs. It was such a wonderful break in my day. Bob insisted I had to feed them (there's a surprise :' ) so I made a carrot cake the night before. They gave me a 4x4 size saying in a pretty frame with flowers and a butterfly that reads "Prayers go up....Blessings come down". I hardly know them, but feel like I know them a lot better now. Twas a very nice visit.

I've been receiving lots of cards, but I have to admit my favorite is the one Bob gave me before the surgery. The front of the card has a lab (dog) and in balloons it reads "you're wonderful!", " marvelous", "nicer than ever!" The inside says "Thought you might like a favorable LAB report to make you feel better". Pretty funny, uh.

Today my friend Ruth Cetrone brought me some soup and stayed for a couple of hours. We're making an effort to let together more often instead of just every couple of months or so.We've been friends since Paul and Ruth's son Dan were in kindergarden!

Tomorrow Holly and mom will be here around 3:30 with a white pizza topped with broccoli and shrimp. Sounds yummy.

I volunteered to create and make up a batch of name tags for the newest members at church on Sunday. There will be a little celebration. So this has kept me out of trouble for the day! :' )

This past Sunday Jen, Jesse and Kendra, Sara and Jake, Logan and Ian were here and Bob went and got mom. He put together a pasta dinner and I have to say it was great having everyone here! I was a little tired when they left though. :' )

Paul and Bryson called and we web-camed on Sunday also. Our little Bryson is a VERY busy baby! It's hard for him to sit still! I had to chuckle when Paul had to put him down and he went straight to under Pauls computer table and peeked out.

Check out my facebook and see the Bird of Paradise that bloomed a couple weeks ago. It's spectacular!

Ok, that's about it for today. Left over cornbeef and cabbage is waiting for me.
